the pictures on delawareonline.com regarding the snowfall in Sussex look all a lot more harmless than the view out of my windows. They show a few inches of snow while I was stuck up to my “you know what” trying to walk to the pole building. The snow is higher than the snowblower, so I can’t use it. All the trees lining the driveway are so full of snow that they are not only drooping but entire tress are laying across the driveway. My pussy willows were almost flattened but I was able to shake the snow off of them. In the backyard you can’t tell where the deck ends and the above ground pool starts. He snow came all the way up to the third step onto the deck. Another few inches and our Satellite Dish would have been under the snow. The snow is all the way up to the top edge of the AC units.

Not as much as we had earlier, but snow nonetheless. I can’t even tell you how many inches we have, because we live in the snow-hole – meaning, when everybody around us seems to have gotten 1 or 2 inches, our backyard shows 5 to 6 inches. Crazy. It is so pretty outside. I went to get gasoline and tried to get the snowblower started but – the damn thing wouldn’t start. Oh well. I figured I’d have fun cleaning out driveway — all 300 feet of it — but I guess I will have to do that tomorrow. Wonder why it wouldn’t start.

I went to Milford earlier to get milk and bread and the gasoline – and 113 was HORRIBLE – it didn’t look as if ANY road crews had been there and from the time I left my house until I got back here 2 hours later, I did not see even ONE truck out clearing Route 113 – NOT EVEN ONE. Ridiculous, don’t you think?

Delawareonline.com: Governor Jack Markell signed legislation legalizing table games into law Thursday, setting up an implementation process that should have patrons playing with real cards and dice in as little as four months.

I am really excited about this. I am not a SLOTS player at all – I find them rather boring. I also never quite understood why we had casinos in this State but that Slots was all they had. What would be the difference if you added Poker or Blackjack – or any other table game? Dover Downs already sports a fake roulette table – I’d rather have a dealer then a screen and it ads jobs as well. I love not only playing but also watching Blackjack and Poker. While I won’t be able to play for financial reasons, knowing that I can without driving to Atlantic City is awesome!

AActually, to be honest, what bothered me was not so much there we only had slots, but that you couldn’t even pay with CASH at Dover Downs – getting all those quarters if you win and putting them into the machine is half the fun!

I hope the snow makes it to Sussex – though it looks like it will be moslty south of us. I have yet to build a snow-woman this year!

..when gays and lesbian can give money, then politicians will smooch them up right and left and make promises out of thier ass. After the election we once again are the red-headed cousing – the one you invite for family dinner becuase you have to but still hope that she won’t show up for dinner. Obama and others were full of promises but they just haven’t delivered. Last year we had a few good legisltiave days in Dover, but nationwide – forget it. So, if I will give money to candidates this year, it will be only those with a proven track record and in local races – as for the other big shots — forget it.

PROVE TO ME that you are electable and that you will deliver legislation that is EQUAL – because different is not equal.

…and we cam all look forward for a Congress where nothing is going to get done.

Some of the polls had put Brown 6 percent ahead of the Democrat, and they were close. So by no way do I think it was a landslide, but still. Where did the Dems go wrong? I don’t thing I need to answer the question.. The Democratic Party fatigue has set in and people aren’t seeing the promised change. People who voted for the hope and change wanted it yesterday and it’s still not even visible on the horizon – and there aren’t any excuses that will convicne them that change is still ahead.

The party needs to really do something because I am afraid that this will not be the only upset. a 50% approval rting is NOT good enough. The conservative right is getting more and more organzied and if we don’t react to that and get our grassroots working for us, there will be tough times ahead. the alst thing we need is more Republicans stuffing mroe money into pockets that are already full of it and taking away from those who need it most.

The world is responding to the disaster in Haiti, and people around the world are coming together to help in any way they can. The animal victims of this disaster will desperately need help too, and animal welfare groups are joining forces to come to their aid.

Together, the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) and the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) will be working on the ground to help the animals in Haiti.

We have developed the Animal Relief Coalition for Haiti (ARCH) to assist in the response efforts, and all animal welfare organizations are invited to join ARCH and direct their financial support to the coalition.

Our teams will be working out of a mobile clinic which has been donated to us by the Antigua and Barbuda Humane Society. WSPA and IFAW have pledged funds to fully outfit this mobile clinic, and it will be shipped from Antigua to our member society, Sociedad Dominicana Para la Protección de Animales (SODOPRECA) in the Dominican Republic for them to drive across the border into Haiti.

When people join together, amazing things can happen. We’re asking you to join us now and donate to help the animals of Haiti and the thousands of other animals that will be affected by disasters to come.

Your story and the stories of our fellow Delawareans must be heard in 2010. Congress has voted on important measures, including financial regulation, economic stimulus and health care. These votes have affected you and me, our families, friends and co-workers.

Please help highlight the impact these votes have had and will have on our lives — Tell us your story.

Have you experienced a foreclosure on a home or seen savings & investments evaporate?

Have you been employed on a project funded by stimulus funds?

Are you frustrated with the GOP’s “Say-No” attitude that is preventing your recovery from the current crisis?

Your story is important to us because the future of Delaware will be affected by outcome of the election in November. We can continue making progress on the issues that are critical to the future of Delaware or we can sit back and watch as Republicans vote against our state’s interests.

All across our state, lives have been or will be affected by decisions made in Washington. If you know someone who may have a story about these effects, please ask them to share their story with us by clicking below:
